Referral website, not the contractor. How it works

Junk removal in Conroe means hiring a crew to load and haul away furniture, appliances, cleanout piles or debris. To get a price from a local company, send a request with the form.

Conroe Junk Pros is a referral website, not a junk removal company. We send your request to one independent local junk removal company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals.

Pricing and scheduling come from that company. Ask for the price in writing before the truck is loaded.

What junk removal in Conroe usually covers

Junk removal is full-service hauling: a crew comes to your house, carries the items out from wherever they sit, loads the truck and takes everything to a landfill, recycler or donation center. You don't rent anything or do the lifting. The table matches common jobs to the page that covers each one.

What's going What to know Where to read more
Couches, recliners, mattresses, dressers Usually priced per item or by how much truck space it fills Furniture and mattress removal
Refrigerators, freezers, washers, AC units Anything with refrigerant needs it recovered before disposal Appliance removal
An old hot tub or spa Must be drained and disconnected; often cut apart Hot tub removal
A whole house after a death, move or downsizing Sort first: keep, donate, sell, haul Estate cleanouts
A packed garage, shed, or storm and yard debris Heavy loads; brush and limbs count toward volume Garage and yard cleanouts
Drywall, flooring, cabinets, shingles from a remodel Dense and heavy; the county drop-off takes only small amounts Construction debris removal

Not sure how much you have? Describe it in the form, or add photos when the company calls.

This site handles junk removal and haul-away requests only. We don't take requests for dumpster or roll-off container rental. In Conroe, every commercial solid waste hauler must hold a commercial franchise approved by the City Council, so ask any container company about that directly.

What junk removal costs in Conroe

Most companies price by how much of the truck your junk fills. National cost guides checked in October 2026 put the common load sizes here:

Load size Rough volume This Old House Fixr
1/8 truck (minimum) 2 to 3 cubic yards $75 to $125 $75 to $125
1/4 truck 3 to 4.5 cubic yards $125 to $200 $125 to $175
1/2 truck 4.5 to 11 cubic yards $200 to $400 $175 to $375
3/4 truck 11 to 13 cubic yards $400 to $600 $375 to $450
Full truck 13 to 17 cubic yards $600 to $800 $450 to $650

Volumes are This Old House's. HireAHelper puts the 2026 national average at about $250 a job, with most jobs between $150 and $500, and notes that many companies charge at least a 1/8-truck minimum. These are national ranges, not quotes from a Conroe company. The junk removal cost guide covers single-item prices, what pushes a quote up, and how hauling compares with taking it to the county yourself.

Quick way to size your pile: measure its length, width and height in feet, multiply them, and divide by 27. That gives cubic yards, which you can match to the table.

Trash rules in Conroe changed in 2025

Conroe's residential trash and recycling moved from Waste Management to Frontier Waste Solutions on October 1, 2025, according to Community Impact. Bulk pickup now runs through Frontier: the City of Conroe says it's once a month and must be scheduled with Frontier at least two working days ahead.

City bulk service is a good deal for an old sofa you can get to the curb. It doesn't take everything. The city's bulk guidelines exclude:

  • construction debris, lumber, concrete, bricks and roofing
  • computers and televisions
  • household hazardous waste, oils and antifreeze
  • vehicles or vehicle parts, dirt, and regular household trash

Appliances that hold Freon go out only after a technician removes the refrigerant and a certificate is taped to the front. Check the city's garbage and recycling page or call Frontier at 936-258-9035 for your bulk week and current rules. Anything on that list, or anything you can't carry to the curb, is where a junk removal company fits.

Services you can request

What haulers usually won't take

Some things don't belong on a junk truck, no matter which company you call:

  • Liquid paint. Texas law bans free liquids, including paint, from landfills. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) says a can that's less than a quarter full can be left open to dry and then thrown in the trash.
  • Chemicals, fuels and pool chemicals. These are household hazardous waste. The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Residential Recycling Facility takes paint and household chemicals on Wednesdays and the third Saturday of each month, for $10 per 5 gallons.
  • Whole tires. TCEQ rules require tires to be split, quartered or shredded before they go in a landfill. Many haulers charge per tire or decline them. Precinct 3 takes passenger tires for $10 each off the rim or $20 on the rim.
  • Propane tanks and pressurized cylinders. Precinct 3 doesn't accept them either. Exchange or refill programs at retailers are the usual route.

The full list, with fees and hours, is in our Montgomery County disposal guide.

Storm and flood cleanup around Conroe

Montgomery County has had three big debris years in seven years. During Hurricane Harvey in 2017, the San Jacinto River Authority made an unprecedented release from the Lake Conroe dam, and River Plantation, south of Conroe on the San Jacinto River, flooded up to the second story of some homes. Tropical Depression Imelda damaged about 1,500 homes countywide in September 2019, according to the county's emergency management director. After the 2024 derecho and Hurricane Beryl, the county had picked up 1.2 million cubic yards of debris by late August, with about 400,000 more estimated, ABC13 reported.

County curbside debris programs after a disaster have limits and end dates. A junk removal company can haul flood-soaked furniture, carpet and drywall when you can't wait. If you plan to file an insurance claim, photograph everything before it's hauled away and ask your insurer what it needs first. The garage and yard cleanout page covers storm debris.

Donate before you haul

Usable furniture, appliances and building materials can skip the landfill. The Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County ReStore, at 9407 State Highway 242, takes drop-offs Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Habitat also offers a free standard pickup for large items, usually booked one to two weeks ahead, and you get a tax receipt. Ask the junk removal company whether it drops off donations for you.

How to choose a junk removal company

Whether you use our referral or find a company on your own, these questions protect you:

  1. Get the price in writing first. Ask whether it's a flat price or by volume, and what happens if the pile turns out bigger or smaller.
  2. Ask what's included. Labor, loading, disposal fees and any per-item charges for mattresses, tires or appliances.
  3. Ask where it goes. Landfill, recycler or donation, and whether refrigerant is recovered from appliances.
  4. Ask for proof of liability insurance if the crew is working inside your house or near a finished driveway.
  5. Don't pay in full before the work. Pay when the truck is loaded and the space is clear.

Common questions

Who actually hauls my junk away?

An independent local junk removal company. Conroe Junk Pros is a referral website, so we don't own trucks or send crews. We pass your request to one company, and that company sets the price and schedule and does the work under its own terms.

Do you take requests from outside Conroe?

Yes. The form takes requests from The Woodlands, Montgomery, Willis and other nearby towns. We send each request to a local junk removal company that serves the area, and it will tell you whether it can take your job.

Can I just use Conroe's bulk trash pickup instead?

Sometimes. The City of Conroe offers one scheduled bulk pickup a month through Frontier Waste Solutions, but it won't take construction debris, concrete, roofing, lumber, TVs, computers or household hazardous waste. A hauler makes sense when the city won't take it, you can't wait for your bulk week, or you can't drag it to the curb.

What should I tell the company?

What's going (item list or rooms), roughly how much (a pickup bed, half a truck, a full garage), where it sits (upstairs, backyard, curb), and anything heavy or awkward like a piano, hot tub or concrete. Photos of the pile help the company give you a price.

Will a junk removal company take paint and chemicals?

Usually not. Texas bans free liquids like liquid paint from landfills, and many haulers won't take chemicals, fuels or pool chemicals; ask the company. Montgomery County residents can take them to the Precinct 3 facility on Wednesdays and the third Saturday of the month.
